2016 Reading and Blogging Challenges

This year, as much as I want to join more reading and blogging challenges, I doubt I can keep up. I don’t to just join every bookish challenges I’m interested but end up abandoning the challenge halfway. So this year, I have limit myself to only two challenges. Two challenges that I’m confident I can finish in 2016. One reading challenge, and one blogging challenge.

I’ve been participating the Goodreads Reading Challenge since 2014. And this might be the easiest reading challenge a reader can join. If you have a Goodreads account, you can join, hence the large number of participants. The challenge is just simply setting a goal of the number of books you want to read for the whole year. Update you shelf whenever you finish a book and it will automatically count. Super easy right?
I set my reading goal to only 40. I’ve got loads of other stuffs I’m doing in my life (I draw, a lot) so I’m not up to higher goals yet. But if I feel like I can finish more, I might re-set my goal higher at the middle of the year.

Commenting 365 Challenge is hosted by Nori from ReadWriteLove28.com. I joined this challenge because I know that this will help me expand my blogging experience. I really want to interact with more bloggers out there and Nori’s challenge is one way I can do that. So how does this work?
I know you might think that this is about leaving comments on a blog each day for the whole year. But according to Nori, it’s not exactly like that. The goal is to visit 365 blogs and leave comments — or just be interactive and friendly and awesome.  I’m not sure if you’re supposed to do this each day (one blog each day) or you can visit multiple blog each day as long as you’ll reach 365. Needless to say, it sounds fun right? I bet I’ll make lots of friends in the process.
By selecting the blogs, it’s up to you. You can create your own list and discover new blogs on your own, or you can use Nori’s list. If you want to be on Nori’s list, you can sign up on the original link on the sub-header (challenge name).

Those two are the only bookish challenges I’m officially joining this year.
Other than those two, I actually want to challenge myself in terms of blogging. I created my blog in 2014, but I was never active. I started posting more in 2015, but my 2014 is just meh. So this year, I want to work on my blogging.
For starter, I stayed late last night and I REVAMPED MY HOMEPAGE! *happy dance* (I even created my own footer, I’m proud. lol). Anyway, I just want few things to accomplish.
I want to blog/publish an entry once a day, or at least 3-4 times a week.
* I want to join at least 10 blog tours this year.
* Read more, buy less. (I still have quite the number of unread sitting on my shelf, so go figure).
* Gather up all the courage I have to request an ARC on big publishing companies.

Oh, and I might also join monthly Bookstagram challenges every now and then. If I’m not too lazy to take photos. lol
That’s it! What about you guys? Are you joining any bookish challenges? Feel free to leave a comment and share yours. I’m stoked to know!

  1. I'm lazy too. lol. That's why I only joined two. And these challenges aren't that hard to do (at least that's what I think). And I really want the idea of discovering new blogs with the Commenting 365 Challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the support Raf! ๐Ÿ™‚
