Super Six Sunday is an original bookish meme created from Bewitched Bookworms and inspired by “Top Ten Tuesday” from The Broke and The Bookish. Each week we are featuring Six Books/Series that all belong in a certain category
This list features my super shameful unread YA series. These series are either super popular, best seller, or just really on hype…… Like above sea level hype.
And upon knowing that I haven’t read these titles yet, some of my bookish friends are like…
Let me explain myself first. I am the kind of reader who doesn’t go with the too mainstream trend or with the bandwagon effect. You see, every month, authors come here in the Philippines to hold a book signing event. It is such wonderful event for readers, thanks to National Bookstore and Fullybooked for hosting. But of course, along with the upcoming signings, it also means that whoever author is coming, surely, after the signing, s/he will be ultra mega popular together with his/her books. And the peaceful and quiet solitude I want to share with that book will be gone forever. Well, not forever. I usually wait until the hype has died down a little, then I’ll go read in peace.
I just like it when I have a quality time with the book I’m reading. Not like, I’m reading you because everyone did and I’m being left behind. Nope, I’ll read a book when I’m ready, and when I feel like reading it. I just want to be calm, and not forced or pressured. Yeah, just my pet peeves and I. lol. But there are exemptions, of course. If the book got me really really intrigued, I’ll read it no matter what, even if the hype level is the epitome of being a mainstream book.
So here’s my list. I’ll start with the least up to my most shameful unread which you can find on my shelf.
6. The Chemical Gardens Trilogy by Lauren Destefano
Honestly, this is not too popular here in the Philippines. It has just the right popularity, but not as popular as Divergent or Legend or The Maze Runner. But the trilogy has been sitting on my shelves for a while now so I just have to include it.
5. Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkins
Hodkins already had her signing here. And that time, this series became really hyped. Even if I have the book, I didn’t dare read it. lol. What’s wrong with me, really?
4. Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu
Alright. I’m guilty. I’m really really interested on this one, being a dystopian lover I am. And everybody seems like they have already read this. lol But after her signing, my excitement has died down, a total opposite of those who went to see Marie Lu. Maybe I’m jealous because they can go to the signing? Nah. I haven’t even read the book, so I can’t say I’m a fan and am jealous. Duh.
3. The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I extra love aliens because of Alienated. And these has been recommended to me a few times already. I just don’t know why I still haven’t read it. Maybe this August. I really want it!
2. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I’ve been hearing nothing but great things about this. I already have Scarlet, but I want to have Cress before I start reading this.
And for my top shameful unread…

1. Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
Everyone has been talking about this lately! Maybe, it’s because the new sequel has come out. And here I am just staring at their glorious beauty on my shelf. lol. I want to start reading it though. I’ll ignore my pet peeves for this. Yep, those exemptions I’m talking about. I’m truly intrigued.
That’s it! What about you guys? What are your shameful unread series? *winks*
