Dreamcasting [01]: The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay’s Nastya, Josh, and Drew

Not a long time ago, I recommended a certain book to my friend. Apparently, that friend of mine, Khay, just finished reading THAT book which is The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay… and she just had to let out some of her feels to me.

While talking about the book, we came to the point of properly visualizing the characters and had the mutual understanding of wanting to see them in the flesh (well, we meant in pictures or a film adaptation at least.) We quite enjoyed playing the MOVIE PRODUCERS and searched for the closest, if not the perfect, actors or actresses that can portray the characters from The Sea of Tranquility.
These choices are just personal opinions, so if you disagree, then fine. It’s your opinion as well. lol.

Kaya Scodelario as Nastya Kashnikov
-o-
Nastya was introduced as a lovely girl who wears too much black and thick dark makeup. Behind those dark makeup and getup, hiding is another person with sweet and innocent appearance. I never considered Kaya to be Nastya. At first, I thought “Na-uh. Nope”. But lo and behold! If you have read the book, you’ll understand me when you see the pictures below…
See what I mean???
Brant Daugherty as Josh Bennett
-o-
I know, I know. Brant is a little old to play a high school hottie. But duh, he’s so Josh! So who cares about age? lol. And may I remind you, Sam Claflin also played a high school guy in Love, Rosie! (At least in the first part of the movie. lol) And he played it well too! Well, movieees… most of the times, are too unrealistic.
Chace Crawford as Drew Layton
-o-
Yup, Chace is the same age as Brant. But then again, WHO CARES?! lol. But seriously, Drew’s character is the tricky one. Khay and I had a hard time looking for the right fit for Drew’s ladies’ man, pretty boy and cocky image. Plus according to Nastya, a guy with  “Panty-combusting smile.” lol. Just need to make his hair a little lighter (blonde), I guess?
And a bonus…
Ali Larter as Aunt Margot
-o-
Eeep! I discussed this with Khay and I changed my earlier choice which is Gwyneth Paltrow. Khay showed me photos of Ali that can justify WHY she should be Aunt Margot. Margot was described by Drew as “hot” and according to Nastya, there’s a big age gap between Margot and Nastya’s mom.
I know that there’s a chance for this beautiful book to be adapted into movie. I’d totally watch it on the first day! It just need a little more exposure and surely, producers will buy this.
What about you guys? Who do you want to play as Josh, Nastya and Drew? (Include more characters if you want!) Or do you agree with this list already?
