I’m not entirely just a book review blog, you know. I’m an artist so hell, I’ve always wanted to draw book related fan arts.
And I am now so excited to show you guys my 8 step fan art process of one of my 2015 favorite novel, Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen
. (Go check out my review here)
This is actually my entry for the HHArtComp
hosted by Angry Robots and some book blogs. And I made it on the last hours before the deadline. lol. I’m always like that, doing important things on the last minute. But well, I have made it.
And oh, don’t get me wrong, this is no tutorial. I just want to show how I did the fan art. My drawing style here is totally different from what I’m used to and this is the first time I used this, so let me know what you think about it on the comment section below. *winks*
WARNING! This scene is the most heart-breaking part of the novel (
at least for me). I won’t tell anything about it coz I might spoil or something. JUST READ THE BOOK, I BEG OF YOU!
Alright, lo and behold…
Tristan and Cécile de Montigny
1. Rough sketch (can you even tell what this crap is? lol)
2. Line art
3. Background sketch
4. Base Color

6. Background details
7. More details

Win or lose, I really enjoyed drawing this and I hope to make more bookish fan arts in the future.

I am also open for commissions if you wish to have your favorite book characters to be illustrated like this. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
