I was never a fan of vampire novels. I’ve read few novels with vampires on it, but never a novel which its main focus are vampires. But, bam! I read Julie Kagawa’s The Immortal Rules last year (yes, I marathon-ed the whole series) and I loved it very much. So, yes, I am very open to reading other vampire-y novels in the future. I haven’t read Twilight and I’m also ready to give it a shot. I don’t know many hates it, it doesn’t seem that bad. (I watched the movies).
As I’ve mentioned above, I only started reading New Adult novels last year, and somehow I found myself reading a lot after. But that being said, dramatic, heavy and painful NA novels were not my thing. Yup, I don’t like being too emotional. I have friends who kept pushing me to read such type of novels, but never did I realize that I’d actually love these type of novels. And for that, In This Life is one hella painful book that made me ugly cry but still loved it. It was just beautiful.
I don’t usually read local novels, and I feel guilty about it. So I promised myself that this year, I’d give our very own Filipino authors a chance. I joined a blog tour for Blast From Two Pasts by our very own Kristel Villar. Despite its minimal flaws, I still enjoyed this short novel very much. So yep, I’ll surely read more from our local authors in the future.
Another New Adult novel that I didn’t know I’d enjoy. Inconceivable is about a royal couple who can’t produce an heir. I mean, I love novels which involves royalties, but I haven’t stumbled with something addressing a sensitive topic such as infertility like Inconceivable. I though it will be a hard topic to story tell, but I liked the approach of this novel and I enjoyed it.
Another novel which is out of my comfort zone. I read Young Adult novels, a lot okay. But not Greek Mythology. I’ve read the first two books of Percy Jackson but wasn’t able to continue with the 3rd yet. (I’m having a real hard time reading backlisted books.) And yeah, I wasn’t a big fan of Percy Jackson either. Maybe because I haven’t gone to the good part yet. But when I read Omega, I found Greek Mythology really interesting. So I’d probably finish Percy Jackson series sooooonest!
Another New Adult novel, but more mature and has more “adult” scenes. I don’t read much adult novels because the overboard steamy scenes make me really uncomfortable. I can read adult novels with very light such scenes, but never like Fifty Shades of Gray. So yeah, I don’t read erotica, and I was surprised that this novel is categorized as one on Goodreads. What I like about Fallen Too Far is its steamy scenes are just right and not overboard. I actually liked the whole series.

most of the books i've read (which is below 20 i'm sure) are fiction, more specifically Sci-Fi, like the martian, the reckoners, avalon, ready player one, armada (which i loved) and percy jackson, i didn't think i would enjoy it since i've watched the 1st 2 movies but i feel like the ending was worth it, in my opinion atleast. especially since i'm a fan of greek gods even though they are pretty messed up if you think about it.
I've not read any of Kagawa's series other than The Iron Fey (although I do own Talon) so it's good to hear that they're enjoyable! I might just have to find myself a copy of them and have a read, now 🙂

Apparently, Percy Jackson's movie is probably one of the worst movie adaptations. The books are good, but not much my taste. And yes, Greek myth makes my head ache. lol
I've read Iron Fey and Talon, Iron Fey is one of my all time favorite series, and Julie Kagawa is one of my favorite authors, so I was so excited to read Blood of Eden. Didn't expect much because vampires… but well, I loved it. 🙂
